I’m Lisa Waananen, a 23-year-old journalist and curious documenter of things. This blog got started as a class requirement and continues as a catchall for photos, graphics, travel notes, opinions and whatever else feels worth sharing. My friends and family are the intended audience (keeps those catching-up phone calls shorter), but I like to think there are other people who wander here as well.
This year I’m a digital media student at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. I graduated from Washington State University in 2008 with majors in communication (journalism emphasis) and political science. A good portion of my college hours were spent at The Daily Evergreen, including a semester as editor-in-chief. I’ve previously worked as a reporter at The Spokesman-Review, The Indianapolis Star and The Arizona Daily Sun, as well as the Student Press Law Center in Washington D.C.
The Archives originally referred to my interest in Evergreen history, and specifically a project I was documenting my final undergraduate semester. I don’t have any reason to change the name now.
